About Bruce

Bruce Choy started as a barber in early 70's and has mastered cutting with both his left and right hand with multiple scissors. In 1993 he developed the dry hair sculpting technique Flyingshears. Since then, besides the press, his technique had been featured by Fox Channel, BBC TV London, and TV shows on Romania, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan & China. In 2002, he was awarded Guinness World Record for using the most scissors simultaineously.

“Originally I cut hair wet like every other stylist with a single pair of scissors. My styling process involved initial wet cutting with a comb and complete with a cut on dry hair. By the end of 1991 I had been cutting hair completely dry and using scissors with both my left and right hand.........More

 

1970 Started his hair styling career in Hong Kong.
1982 Moved to USA and continued his hair styling career.
1984 Studied in GIT Music School, L.A.
1993 Established Flyingshears Salon in San Francisco.
1994 Invented the Flyingshears technique.
1995 Invented Multi-Blade Shears.
1998 Patented the Shears invention in USA, Japan, China , Taiwan and Hong Kong.
2002 Awarded GuinnessWorldRecord for the most number of shears
2003 Flyingshears was elected as a best Salon by San Francisco Weekly.
2005 Started Flyingshears Seminar and Teaching in Asia.
2007-08 Established Flyingshears Salon & Training Center in Hong Kong.
